Commitment Quality Value
Claire nominated for WorldSkills UK finals by DAF and Skillnet.
Completing her three year DAF apprenticeship was a major achievement for Claire Weller. However, on top of that success Claire, who was nominated for DAF Apprentice of the Year in her first two years of apprenticeship, will now go forward to take part in the WorldSkills UK finals.
Claire had to pass on line tests which she did with flying colours and this led to entry into the heats with 17 other individuals. After a series of tests working on MAN trucks and vans Claire came out with top marks and an invite to attend the WorldSkills UK finals at the NEC in Birmingham on the 21st to 23rd November.
Claire is now one of 6 finalists and they will be faced with several practical tasks including servicing, transmissions and electrical issues. The finalists come from different companies and colleges from across the UK. Claire who is from Waltham Chase, Southampton, did well at College but decided she did not want to go to University, preferring to enter the world of work, choosing the route of a technician apprenticeship with Adams Morey.
It just goes to show that if you apply yourself, work hard and are prepared to learn, the opportunities will open up for you. Everyone at Adams Morey Portsmouth will be cheering on Claire in the WorldSkills UK finals.
