The new and versatile truck to suit your distribution needs. The New Generation DAF XB is the ideal workhorse for distribution in urban locations for specific city applications for refuse collections or inner-city construction sites. For operators in inner cities, the new XB Electric offers low noise and emissions-free performance.

The new DAF XB is available with a 4.5 litre 4-cylinder PACCAR PD-5 and 6.7 6-cylinder PACCAR PX-7 engines with outputs from 124kW (170hp) to 227kW (310hp). The engines have been developed with operator in mind, offering peak torque at low engine speeds and supporting down-speeding and class-leading fuel efficiency. Both the DAF XB engines are now ready for the application of HVO, helping to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 90%.

The DAF XB are offered with 8-speed fully automatic PowerLine transmission aiding optimal gear spread and steps. Powershifting without torque interruption enables smoother shifting and quicker throttle response aiding optimum driver comfort and driveability. The XB now features urge-to-move feature upon releasing the brake pedal, in return offering excellent low speed manoeuvrability. For those looking for manual transmission, a 6 and 9-speed transmission is also available, while fully automatic Allison gearboxes can be ordered for special applications.

Versatility and flexibility

The new DAF XB offers class-leading turning angles, making it perfect for inner cities where roads are often narrow or obstructed. The chassis has been designed with road sweepers, tippers and refuse collectors in mind to ensure the turning circles are maintained for these applications too.

The short cab length of the new DAF CXB gives room for a load length of over nine metres, contributing to the DAF XB offering the largest load capacity in its class. The 19t XB is notably efficient in terms of GVM and payload ratio.

The DAF XB features a 50mm standard grid pattern on the chassis meaning it’s easier to fit any body without having to drill additional holes and with a wide range of chassis lengths and wheelbases, the DAF XB is suitable for whatever your needs and application.

Featuring slimmer mirrors and a profiled co-driver grab handle and a vision door on the passenger side maximise the driver’s direct vision.

DAF trucks are consistently rated among the most comfortable and the DAF XB is no exception. Featuring a generous cab width with a staircase step for easy entry – perfect for multi-drop inner city drivers.

For ultimate driver comfort, the DAF XB also has extra cushioning to make longer journeys more comfortable. Modern styling meets a spacious interior utilising high-quality materials, soft trims and upholstery to create an inviting driving experience. The Sleeper Cab is equipped with a soft mattress and black-out curtains to ensure a comfortable and optimal sleep.
