As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Controller to oversee and coordinate our busy, high-performing workshop, ensuring efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction at all times.
Salary: Dependent on experience (will be discussed at interview stage).
Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 5.00 pm, i.e. 40 hours per week, 1 hour lunch (unpaid).
Key Responsibilities:
- Allocate work to technicians in line with skill set and job priority.
- Monitor job progress and ensure timely completion.
- Ensure high levels of productivity and efficiency across the workshop.
- Liaise with service advisors and parts department to ensure seamless workflow.
- Maintain accurate job cards and records through our internal systems.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide support/training to workshop staff.
- Ensure all health & safety standards and manufacturer guidelines are followed.
Ideally we are looking for:
- Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, Senior Technician, or similar supervisory role in a commercial vehicle or HGV environment.
- A working technical understanding of vehicles in order to clearly explain repairs or additional repairs to customers.
- Customer service skills, including dealing with difficult situations and an ability to up-sell our services and products where appropriate.
- Strong IT skills.
- Awareness of warranty guidelines, service intervals, etc.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Be flexible, energised and a team player.
