DAF Trucks has delivered a fleet of New CF and XF demonstration tractor units to the DAF UK Dealer network. Following the global launch of the new trucks at the CV Show earlier this year, the new, upgraded models are about to hit UK roads.

DAF Trucks is delighted to be showcasing a ‘Construction’ CF 400 FAD eight-wheel tipper-grab at Tip-ex Tank-ex 2017 in Harrogate, kindly loaned by high-profile LC Vehicle Hire – one of the UK’s largest rental and contract-hire providers specialising in tipper and tipper-grab applications. The Thompsons-bodied 8x4 is specially painted with a black cab and red chassis in recognition of the company’s 60th anniversary.

*3 May 2017* – David G Davies & Sons in Glossop has placed the first order for a new, uprated DAF XF 4x2 tractor unit, as launched alongside its DAF CF stablemate at the CV Show last week.
Delivery of the new model, a 40-tonne XF530 FT with Super Space Cab, is expected in July. The new XF will feature an uprated 530bhp PACCAR MX13 engine, new ZF TraXon gearbox, front axle air suspension and a new Exclusive Line cab-interior specification.

To underline DAF’s focus on innovation as part of drive to enhance fuel efficiency, lower CO2 emissions and improve productivity, DAF has confirmed that the Future Truck Chassis Concept (FTCC) will be on display at the CV Show later this month in Birmingham.

Six DAF Apprentices have been hailed as heroes after coming to the rescue of a pregnant Bristol woman after she suffered a late-night flat-tyre on the city’s Cribbs Causeway. After 48 years working in the UK truck industry, the last eight years as DAF Trucks Managing Director, Ray Ashworth (63) has announced his retirement. Ray Ashworth will be succeeded by Robin Easton (50), who leaves his post as Managing Director of PACCAR India.
Ray Ashworth is expected to complete formal duties over the next few months. He retires with DAF Trucks continuing its dominance of the UK truck market; a leading position it has held uninterrupted for more than two decades and with a record 30% share above 6.0 tonnes in 2016.
