Adams Morey Parts solution aids efficiencies at Lambert Brothers of Eastleigh

Lambert Brothers are transport, distribution and warehouse specialists based at Eastleigh, Hampshire. The company was founded in 1960, and moved to Eastleigh in 1972. In 2015, Lambert Brothers joined Kinaxia Logistics as their fourth addition. Today, Kinaxia is a leading logistics group, with 11 companies, 2 million square feet of warehousing space and over 900 vehicles. Along with group locations across the UK, Lambert Brothers are ideally situated in a strategic location close to the junction of motorways M27 (East-West) and the M3 (North – South) and close to the Port of Southampton.

Adams Morey, commercial vehicle specialists, have worked with Lambert Brothers to develop and rationalise their parts department, increasing efficiencies and reducing waste and losses. Prior to the installation of new racking and the Impress Stock system by Adams Morey, there was a lot of old stock and storage was very ad hoc.

Adam Richmond, Parts Sales Manager at Adams Morey explains the transformation: “We have a dedicated system which enables customers of Adams Morey to have all of their parts sourcing, purchasing and auditing done for them by us. Lambert Brothers have over 90 trucks and 90 trailers from various manufacturers. At Adams Morey we can provide genuine and non-genuine truck and trailer parts from all manufacturers through our TRP business.

“Our Parts Sales Representative for this area is Aaron Higgins and he calls in at Lamberts twice a week topping up the stock.  Our Impress Stock system maintains regular auditing of the stock on the shelves reducing the over stocking of parts and reducing redundant stock items.  Each year there is an audit to cleanse the system and reclaim the obsolete parts.”

Richard Skudder is the Workshop manager at Lamberts and he appreciates the difference the Impress System has made to his maintenance team: “The parts storage system is efficiently structured and we replace parts as they are used through parts van deliveries, of which we may have 3 or 4 visits a day from Adams Morey.  They will even deliver on a Saturday if we have a need.

“It is so much more efficient to deal with one supplier and receive one invoice where we used to deal with 3 or 4 for the same amount of parts. It has streamlined our operation making it more efficient, reducing down time as the availability of parts is so much improved.  The commitment we receive from the Adams Morey staff is very important to us.”

Building a relationship that has mutual benefits to both businesses has once again proved to be very satisfying to all concerned.
